Annual school function “Mumbai to Chennai” June 2023

India is a subcontinent, the seventh largest country in the world 🌍 The history of the relationship between North and South India is complex, multi-factorial and multi-layered: unity in diversity 🌈

However, it has always been difficult to understand those differences and value each other’s uniqueness. The different film industries like Bollywood (Hindi), Kollywood (Tamil,) Mollywood (Malayalam) and Tollywood (Telugu) among others have always served as a platform for communication between different parts of India and exchanging cultural elements of the country 🎦

What started with a rivalry or competition in all these years ended up merging and becoming something unified, while each part maintains its flavor. In the most important years of modernization and transition that India is experiencing, there has also been an evolution in how North and South India understand and relate to each other 🤝

From languages, costumes and food to music, dance and cinema, the variety that the same country can offer is impressive. In this day and age, we are seeing a lot of collaboration between North and South India. But it should be noted that this has not always been the case! 📈

In this annual school show, we want to give you a glimpse of this journey that India has taken, bringing the northern part and the southern part of the country closer to each other!
